A Perfect Gift Basket for a Perfect Baby Shower

A Perfect Gift Basket for a Perfect Baby Shower.docx

For every new parent, there’s nothing quite like the magic of bringing a brand new life into the world. But if you think the process begins on the day the baby is born, it’s time to think again. The pregnancy itself should be enjoyed just as much as the end result, especially when the air of anticipation builds as the big day arrives.

In recent years, the popularity of baby showers has spread around the world. Although many of us associate the celebration with the USA, it has become a firm favourite with expectant mothers in other countries now. If you have a friend or a relative who is about to enjoy this most special of occasions, you might already be wondering to yourself about what gift you want to give her.

Instead of an individual present, however, why not consider a gift basket containing a number of separate items? The gesture itself is a far more personal offering, and of course the contents can be specifically chosen with the recipient in mind. Thankfully, the local stores are jam-packed with a huge range of potential contents, so you can find the ideal range to match the needs and desires of just about anyone.

First and foremost, however, you should think about the actual container before you decide what to put in it. While a basket might seem to be a standard receptacle, you will have a choice of sizes and colours to suit the occasion. If you know the gender of the new arrival in advance, perhaps a shocking pink or bold blue might be the order of the day? Alternatively, you can stick with tradition and give the usual colour, of course.

As for the contents, you might want to decide on a theme first. For example, you may choose a range of bath-time products for mother and baby, chosen specifically to make those first few baths extra special. You could include baby shampoo, an ultra-soft flannel and perhaps even a rubber duck. As an extra little touch, why not purchase a delightful baby towel with a picture of an animal on it, and use it to line the basket?

Creating treasured memories

Another alternative is to create a basket with gifts designed to create memorable moments from the second baby is born. This can include a baby record book which allows parents to record significant events in the little one’s new life, a photo album featuring pictures of mum and dad – with space for new images, of course – and perhaps a kit to record the little one’s height as he or she grows up.

Needless to say, a baby shower isn’t all about the new arrival. The mother should not be forgotten at this important stage, and because of this it would be a nice idea to indulge. A range of health and beauty products could be just the thing to lift her spirits, and if it also includes a little comfort food such as chocolate then so much the better. After all, she’s going to be the one doing all the hard work!

You may be wondering how much it would cost to assemble a selection of desirable items, but the truth is that the final amount is simply up to you. There’s no need to be overly extravagant if you happen to be on a budget, especially if you shop at one of the cheaper stores in the high street. And with a cheap courier service, you won’t have to pay through the nose to have your final package delivered.

Giving a special gift to a loved one is always a good idea, but there’s never been a better time to do it than when a baby is on the way. The weeks and months after a birth will be hard work for new parents, of course, but they will be made a little easier by the fact that you sent a carefully thought-out basket.
